Version 3 — last updated 7 October 2026
This page explains what Elnova VV collects when you upload a video, why we collect it, who handles it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
Elnova VV is run by Elnova. We decide how the information on this page is used, and we are responsible for looking after it.
For anything about your information, write to support@sybo.ai.
What we collect
When you create an account we store your name, email address, phone number and an encrypted form of your password. We never see or store the password itself.
When you upload a video we store:
- the video file. It is saved under a new random name, so it can never be mixed up with another video that has the same filename;
- the original filename, kept only so you can recognise the video on your My work page;
- the emotion you chose for it;
- the emotion our check read from it;
- measurements taken from the footage: whether one person is in view, whether your face, eyes and hands are visible, whether the picture is sharp, and readings of your expression and your voice;
- a checksum and a visual fingerprint of the video, used only to notice when the same video is uploaded twice;
- the length of the video and how many seconds of it were usable;
- the clips cut from it, and the reason each clip was kept or set aside.
When you are paid we store the seconds paid for, the rate, the amount, the date and a payment reference. We do not store bank details, card numbers or any payment credentials. Payment is arranged outside this website.
Our servers also keep short technical records of errors, which can include the page requested and the network address it was requested from.
What a video must be
Each video must be between 20 and 60 seconds long and recorded in 1080p (1920×1080) or higher. Videos outside these limits cannot be uploaded.
How your video is checked
Every video is checked by software after you upload it. The check does three things:
- Reads the emotion. A reduced copy of your video (lower resolution, with sound) is sent to Google’s Gemini service, which tells us which emotion it shows. We delete that copy from Google as soon as the answer comes back. Google handles it only to give us that answer.
- Checks the picture. Our own software, on our own computers, looks for parts where someone else is in view, your hands leave the frame, your eyes are covered or the picture is blurry. Those parts are set aside and not paid.
- Checks it is your own recording. Our software looks for videos uploaded before, and for films, downloaded or edited footage.
If your video shows a different emotion from the one you chose, it is filed and paid under the emotion it shows. The video and its clips are moved to that emotion’s folder, and both the emotion you chose and the emotion it shows are kept in your record.
None of this creates a face template that could identify you elsewhere. We do not use your video to recognise you in other footage, and we do not match you against any other database. A recording of your face and voice can identify you, so we treat all of it as personal information for as long as we hold it.
Videos that are not your own
Only upload videos you recorded yourself, in one go. A video that has been uploaded before is not paid.
If you upload footage from a film, TV, the internet or anyone else, or edited or downloaded footage, your account will be closed and that video will not be paid.
Why we collect it
The clips cut from your videos form a dataset that Elnova uses to build and test its own emotion-recognition software. That is the purpose of this service and the reason you are paid for your footage.
Your footage stays with Elnova. We do not sell it, licence it, publish it or give it to clients, partners or anyone else. If that ever changes, we will publish a new version of this page and ask you again before your footage is used in any new way.
We also use your account details to sign you in, and your work records to work out what you are owed.
Who handles your information
We use these companies to run the service. Each one handles your information only to do that job for us:
- Backblaze stores your videos and clips (United States).
- Amazon Web Services runs the website and its database (United States).
- Google (Gemini) reads the emotion from a reduced copy of each video, as described above. The copy is deleted after the check.
Inside Elnova, your footage is seen only by the staff who need it: to check a decision, to work out what you are owed, or to keep the service running.
We do not sell your account details, and we do not use your footage for advertising.
How long we keep it
Footage you have been paid for is kept indefinitely. It is part of a dataset our software is built and tested on, and removing pieces of it later would make earlier results impossible to repeat. Paying you for a video is us buying the right to keep it and use it for the purpose described above.
Footage that was not paid for is kept only while it is useful for checking that decision.
Your account details are kept for as long as you have an account. Payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you what we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your account;
- send you a copy of your information;
- explain any decision the check made about one of your videos.
Write to support@sybo.ai and we will answer within 30 days.
There is one limit, and we would rather say it plainly now. Footage you have been paid for is not deleted on request. The payment bought the right to keep it, and it is part of a dataset our work depends on. Deleting your account removes your account and stops any further use of your details, but the videos you were paid for stay in the dataset. Footage you were never paid for is deleted if you ask.
If you think that is wrong in your case, write to us and a person will look at it.
Cookies
We set one cookie, which keeps you signed in for up to seven days. It is needed for the site to work, other websites cannot read it, and it is not used to track you. We use no analytics or advertising cookies.
Children
This service is not for anyone under 18. You are handing over a recording of your own face and voice and being paid for it, which a child cannot agree to. Do not create an account or upload footage if you are under 18.
Changes to this page
Every version of this page is kept and numbered, so what it said on any day can be checked later. If we change anything that affects how your footage is used, we will tell you by email, not only by changing this page.
